There is nothing worse than having to clean up a coffee mess before fighting rush hour traffic. However, today I'm done. I sent it back to Cuisnart, who promptly, replaced the machine both times.
This is the tenth time it has happened with this machine and this is my third machine I've tried. Coffee grounds were every where. My Cuisnart Grind and Brew imploded this morning.
I have had this same problem with this same model two times before. I'm done with this model and I'm done with Cuisnart. There is a problem with the grind mechanism of this machine.
This morning the grinder started to grind, but the basket popped out of the machine and proceed to spill a water/coffee mix all over my counter.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone in the market for a grind and brew machine. The coffee is hotter in this model rather than the thermal pot. This is the second Cuisinart Grind and Brew I have owned, the first lasted over seven years. I like the auto program feature best, as the freshly ground coffee is ready when I get up each morning.
when i tried to open it, the hot water spilled all over my hand. this is by far the worst coffee maker. the company was ACE PHOTO- NEVER, EVER DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY. when i called customer service, they kept saying i didn't follow the instructions and that's a complete lie- i followed it all the way. the grinder collects a lot of moisture while the water is heated up, so it's a complete mess to clean(you are expected to clean it after every use). then to top it all off, there was something malfunctioning with the one i got-all the hot water collected in the coffee bag and it leaked around the coffee maker and not in the mug provided.
This is an excellent coffeemaker - very easy to use and to clean, and it makes delicious coffee.
I was given this coffee maker as a gift, but I have returned it. When the grinder goes on it sounds so loud its literally scary. I'll probably buy a Zojirushi instead. The coffee maker has no water level indicator on the outside so I had to stand on my toes to peer down into the dark water reservoir and squint at the water level markers down inside.
The only way to get the dust out was to roll a paper towel into a point and jab it down into the crevices. I thought the thing was going to shake itself to pieces.Problem #3: It is hellishly difficult to keep it clean. If we brewed another pot the grounds would stick to the condensation and make a gooey mess. I brewed two pots of coffee, cleaned the machine twice and that was enough. The Cuisinart has a large number of pieces, all of which have lots of little hard to reach areas that filled with coffee dust. (Thank goodness for gift receipts).
Every time we brewed coffee the grinder would fill with condensation. I returned it the next day. The Cuisinart made good coffee but was too difficult to use.Problem #1: It was difficult to put the right amount of water into it. This was not a problem with my previous coffee maker because it had a glass carafe with graduated marks on the side but that obviously isn't possible with the steel carafe that comes with this Cuisinart.Problem #2: It was extremely noisy.
